Stellar's Gayoung speaks up amidst controversy

Article: Stellar Gayoung speaks up amidst controversy "Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you"

Source: Sports World via Nate

"Don't worry. I'm okay. I have strength thanks to you and I'm happy. I'll work hard. Have a great day! Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you."

1. [+1,720, -56] I'm really worried for Korea's idols... the only thing I ask is that they never perform at the finale for the olympics and the Asian games. We must invite only the legends.

2. [+1,562, -73] So are you selling your albums or your bodies

3. [+1,021, -46] Stop this media play marketing

4. [+94, -10] Disband instead of media playing. Don't you dare call yourselves singers anywhere else. You are the worst in history.

5. [+89, -3] You're thankful, sorry, and you love them? What psycho talk is this?

6. [+85 ,-7] Isn't this exactly the reaction you watned? Why act like you're the victim now?? Nobody's worried about you at all so what're you saying is okay? You stripped for your own gain, don't act like you're the victims in this.

7. [+70, -15] I wonder what kind of people their parents are

8. [+67, -3] Soon we'll have a girl group with a concept that covers nothing but their nipples

9. [+57, -4] I wondered while watching their music video... for what gain are they stroking their chests, sliding their hands between their thighs, and dancing in sexual positions? Are they that poor and hungry that they must resort to such gimmicks for money?

10. [+54, -7] It doesn't matter if your fans or the public is okay with it... Your parents aren't okay with it.

    THIS.
Honesty, I really don't understand the meaning of her caption.

P/s: For someone would ask why I comment on this article: I'm in the beginning of winter break and getting bored because having nothing to do.

  6. Marionette is charting higher than ANYTHING they've ever released before so clearly their strategy of getting attention is working.

    ReplyDelete
  7. i look at them and then look at sm the ballad.

this is why singing should be reserved for those who can actually sing.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the video. I support sexy concepts, I think women being sexual and strong and owning their own bodies is hella great. But this whole thing just reminds me how kpop (and lbr the world at large) views women as meat to be sold and trashed whenever it's convenient. Maybe the girls themselves are really ok with this, but I doubt it. Even if they are it's still gross as fuck anyway. And once again you have people judging them more than the companies that force them into these concepts. More than the society at large that makes these kind of things happen.

Sigh. I just have to throw up my hands and go distract myself from the disgusting parts of this world.

  9. the double standards make me sick. if guys can rub themselves and rip their shirts on stage and get girls screaming for more, why can't girls do something similar and at least NOT be called sluts?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I see PSY performing at the olympics in 2018.

    ReplyDelete
  11. "Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you." very dramatic ... XD

The dance with rubbing, scratching butt and the UGLY outfits ... I can't even

    ReplyDelete
  12. netizens hate it but stellar was in the top 10 in naver and daum for hours, sadly this is bringing the attention the group never got

    ReplyDelete
  13. Honestly, shouldn't the company be blamed first and foremost? We don't know if it's the girls who came up with the idea. There's a high possibility that they're told to do this..

    ReplyDelete
  14. The song is not bad, but the MV is just awkward

    ReplyDelete
  15. the wedgy dance.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i cant really blame them. they are just following their company's orders! even if they dont want to, they dont have a choice.
idols are the easiest to point fingers at, smh.

(no, i havent seen the MV yet nor have plans to do so.)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I just wish they went the route Girl's Day did rather then Rania.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think the company forced the girls to act like this. They could've refuse though..

    ReplyDelete
  19. So much fuss over a "meh" group. Ignore them and they'll go away.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 8. [+67, -3] Soon we'll have a girl group with a concept that covers nothing but their nipples

I actually saw a video of a japanese girl wearing nothing but panties and stickers on her breasts. Dancing to a song with a face mask to cover her identity. That was disturbing and no way should it go to mainstream kpop music or as a concept. NEVER.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I highly doubt they could refuse.

Im not watching guys with a cloth covering their penis.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think its more like look are them and then look at everyone else in kpop (as of this moment who knows when something worst will come out). Even girl's day pales in comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you."

    Deadpanned

    ReplyDelete
  26. They don't deserve the hate tbh. Stop buying and giving attention to these kind of concepts if you want them to stop. The companies wouldn't go out of their way to do these concepts if they didn't garner attention, sales, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wasnt the girl from MBLAQ Idol Manaager from Stellar .she was really sweet.I guess the company got desperate since they were felopping.its not like the girls can go against the company.anyway I hope they succeed and then never have to resort to this kind of concept again.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Now why I look at guys stripping, I should start calling them manwhore and mansluts. Ewww nipples !! They should cover up!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Haha. I agree. I remember being like :O after seeing the cat dance in Someday but... I'd take that any day after the wtf butt scratch dance. Dude.. If I was a guy... that would be a real turnoff? no?

    ReplyDelete
  30. 5. [+89, -3] You're thankful, sorry, and you love them? What psycho talk is this?

Weird message tbh. And that tongue picture. >_> What is that all about?

    ReplyDelete
  31. right, I don't even feel bad for them anymore. That rubbed me wrong way....

    ReplyDelete
  32. yes, butt scratch was awkward

    ReplyDelete
  33. why people bash this girls? It's company fault. Girls have nothing to say, they can only go out from group but they training soo many years and now give up? People think before u call someone bash words...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I feel like the worst part isn't the MV, it's the way their company marketed them in their Facebook promos. Those pictures I saw that they had on FB made me feel like I was looking at an ad for a prostitute-.-
"The more likes you click, the more is unveiled!"

    ReplyDelete
  35. I shld start masturbating to guy idols wearing scantily and stripping. Damn hot guys! Such manwhore/sluts! Start touching ur chest aw yeah. Yum yum

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ok true if the company was the one behind this. But stellar has a choice, either doing this or leave the group. It looks like not only the company but they want the attention, too. Well unless the company forced or threatened them to do this in a way they couldn't refuse.

    ReplyDelete
  37. These poor girls don't deserve to be torn apart like this, jfc. It's the company's fault.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Idk haha I wouldn't know, not a dude

    ReplyDelete
  39. i hope in 2014 they start censoring guy's nipples

    ReplyDelete
  40. The sad thing is that their song is charting way better than any of their song. They top 10 in naver and daum for hours. I am still trying to get over the butt scratching dance.

    ReplyDelete
  41. sad that netizens are blaming the girls more than the company. like yes the artist can have their own opinion on concepts, but do you really think that the company will listen to them much if they are as nugu as stellar is? i'm sure if SM proposed something like this for SNSD, the girls would be able to speak up and probably change the concept, even just slightly. the amount of money the artist brings in is relevant to the amount of control the company has over them, and seeing as stellar obviously weren't bringing in much before, i really don't think that the company would have let them have much control over this.

    ReplyDelete
  42. anybody else wondering what S.Korea is going to put on for the closing ceremony for Sochi? They get one number to convey how they want their next winter games to be. And if they use any kind of Kpop i think that a lot of knetizens will lose their shit.
PS: anyone else watching the games notice how much Kpop(remixs) is playing in the background between races/events?

    ReplyDelete
  43. the signed a contract and if an idol could refuse to do something their company tells them to do without consequences their lives would be a lot easier. They're not going to leave the group just because they don't like a concept, they worked hard to get there, even if it's nugu level like stellar.

    ReplyDelete
  44. not that i like the concept and hypersexualization of the girls, but netizens are being mean ass bitches here. they speak in such a demeaning and disparaging tone. "Are they that poor and hungry that they must resort to such gimmicks for money?" uh basically, they saw that you guys made girl's day a success with their suggestive concepts that they want a piece too. this is the most attention and "success" they've seen since debut. blame the company, the girls are their puppets.

    ReplyDelete
  45. please not gangnam style LOL
also i'm also wondering about who they're going to get to sing at the opening and ending ceremonies, it would interesting to see if they decide to use an idol singer or not...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah and start censoring boobs and butts too.

    Ohhhh and moobs

    ReplyDelete
  47. This is so frustrating > < The more success groups get off sexy concepts, the more sexy concepts we'll see. And recently groups are taking it too far...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Patriarchal societies?

    ReplyDelete
  49. As much as I dislike the entire way their company chose to promote them, it doesn't warrant those kinds of comments. It's not even their fault for any of this. Blame the agency not the group.

    ReplyDelete
  50. even snsd would have a hard time, seohyun didn't really like oh! and taeyeon hates all the cute concepts and she still had to do them

    ReplyDelete
  51. Then like I said it's both of them.. not only the company or only the idols.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know a lot of people won't agree but Rania owned their body. While they were certainly more provocative than coy (which is the sexy that Koreans tend to prefer), they lived up to every stage of theirs. This on the other hand is too much visual with no talent backing up. Or maybe there is.. too be honest, I can't remember the song + vocals at all.

    ReplyDelete
  53. There was nothing wrong with Rania other than the fact that they embraced their sexy, which is of course a definite disgrace in the realm of Kpop.

    ReplyDelete
  54. "[+67, -3] Soon we'll have a girl group with a concept that covers nothing but their nipples" Please contact me when this happens. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I actually really like the song, it's just the MV and Facebook promotions that I find to be absolutely cheap in the worst way.

    ReplyDelete
  56. what's their facebook link?

    ReplyDelete
  57. the irony of people here only talking about "netizen comments" when there are perfectly good sexist comments right here on nb.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Taeyeon hated a few of their songs that ended up doing well. Hyoyeon also hated Gee because it was too cute for her. But as you said, they still had to do them. Now it may not be the same way since they're 7 years in. They were involved in their current comeback.

    ReplyDelete
  59. it's not like they who invented that concept it's their management so...

    ReplyDelete
  60. I doubt that Stellar had a choice in all this.. It was most likely forced upon them by the company

    ReplyDelete
  61. thats moment when they grab their ass while dancing.. it's awkward dance

    ReplyDelete
  62. That's the worst part to me. I can deal with the concept minus that horrible dance, but their company's way to promote them was bad. It seemed like they were call girls.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I've never listened to them, but I feel bad for them.. they must have been desperate for attention to be doing this.
And eventho bad publicity is also publicity... People treat you very differently based on that publicity. Just look how different k-netizens comment on a GG article and T-ara article.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Don't blame the girls blame the company. They don't have the choice but to do that horrible dance.
As for the song...at least they stopped with their over autotuned sound and voices.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'm genuinely curious, isn't there something in the contracts that would protect idols from their company on forcing them to do things that cross the line (unless they idol consent to it of course)? Or is it maybe just for minors?

Then again, with things like sponsorship going on in the background it's not exactly like idol life is clean anyway. I feel kinda bad for idols, some of them don't realize what they sign up for. :/

    ReplyDelete
  66. they're more involved now but back then they had to put up with those concepts, The other day I was watching the oh! mv and taeyeon was so uninterested in the scenes where all the girls were watching the players and I feel so bad for her because even now she still has to sing the songs she dislikes because they were really popular

    ReplyDelete
  67. https://www.facebook.com/stellar.topclass

  68. Countries tend to show their country/culture threw the years, so i think they would at least have to include one group in the open ceremonies. But that's in 4 years time, so it's anyone's guess who they would use. I have my fingers crossed for at least a snip-it of trot during the opening in 4 years. But it they don't have traditional music/performances for the majority of the openings i would be really disappointed.
For some reason i just had this image in my head of all the active kpop singers/dancers/groups doing this really large dance sequence. and now i can't stop laughing. But music, dance, martial arts, technological advancements, and architecture through the centuries is a must for opening ceremonies.

And it also makes me think about all the political bs we're going to have to hear about when it gets close to the games in S.Korea. Threats and more i'm sure, but if i know anything about S.Korea i know they are rich in culture and can put on a damn good show.

    ReplyDelete
  69. It's the most awkward thing ever it's like they have a really bad wedgie and their trying to dig it out in different ways :/

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sex sells. That's the saddest fact in this whole Stellar problem

    ReplyDelete
  71. well public may dislike every sexy concept/dance/song but many men and older women usually like it, one of variety show i watch ahjummas said they used idol sexy dances to seduce their husband at the night

    ReplyDelete
  72. The rudeness and insensibility of those comments, what do they want them to say, yeah we shake and scratch our butts, show our chests, imply a second meaning with the milk scene, please show us support and look out for us in the future?. Their company crossed a line, they not only objectifyed and oversexualized the group members, the music video was degrading, they turned them in the easiest fapping material I´ve seen in kpop so far. It´s sad than their company make them do this concept to repair their first fail attempt and get the money they lose.

    ReplyDelete
  73. they aren't that far off on the sexually suggestive spectrum. and if you're gonna compare between the two, stellar did go the girl's day route, just with a lil more buttcheeks and an even risquer butt dance.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I don't undersrand ,don't they value themselfes ?? if you hate it and don't feel camfortable about it SPEEK ABOUT IT !! feeling sorry for girls gruop for doing this is not gana change anything ,they jusr exept the reality ,thats really make me angry ,and when you guys says isn't their fault it's ugh =_=" TAKE THE REASPONSPILTY FOR YOUR ACTIONS , they arn't kids . sorry for the bad eng , I am typing from my phone

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yeah I remember Hyo saying how she hated cute concepts like Kissing You & Gee, but she had to go along with it. I think they had this joke that said if Taeyeon hated the song, it would do well. She disliked many songs, but they did good and she had to sing them. Yuri and Jessica don't like certain dance moves, but have to do them. Luckily for them now they're at that level where they can have more creative control over what they do & wear.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 7. [+70, -15] I wonder what kind of people their parents are

I wonder wats their parents reaction

    ReplyDelete
  77. They aren't well known and don't bring in a lot of money, they have no say so in their concepts.

    ReplyDelete
  78. "But stellar has a choice, either doing this or leave the group." Easier said than done.

Sure if a person is very strong-minded he or she might be able to choose to leave right away. But are we gonna ignore the fact that they've trained for years and probably could go nowhere if they leave? Their entire life is devoted to their career. Like you said, they could even be forced or threatened. If the company proposes and forces them to do erotic stuffs and tells them it's the only path they can go, they would probably just accept the truth. When I say "force," it doesn't necessarily means physical forces. They could take advantage on members who're feeling weak and helpless because they couldn't see their future, and brainwash them at that moment. Anyone with a not-so-strong mind would've fallen into the trap. Everyone has weak moments. I would've empathized the victims instead of blaming them.

Not to mention that they've signed contracts and many trainees or nugus don't have the financial ability to pay for compensation. Let's not forget that a lot of them probably even have to feed their families with that meager income of theirs. At this point do you really consider leaving as a legitimate choice for them?

    ReplyDelete
  79. can I just say I don't like it when guys rip their shirts either?! so, when I say I hate these overly sexy/strippy concepts, I am not applying it to only girls, it goes both ways. If sexy is done the right way, I'm all for it. but, most of these girls don't have enough confidence to ooze that sexy aura, kahi and hyori do sexy, but it's their confidence that carries it for them. No offence to these rookie girl groups, but none of them do it right, plus the choreography become more and more ridiculous by the day, so instead of focusing on their music, you are sitting their cringing at the choreography. so, even if you do get a little famous by it, what's the point? Because musically, you will get no where in the future. Just my point of view, no offence.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I agree, but I don't think getting attention for all unwanted reasons will be able to help them in the long run. The song is good and with a good story in it. Sadly, the company chooses to ignore the substance and focus on inappropriate visual presentation and cheap promotional tactics.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Once they start climbing the charts, the haters are going to eat their words

    ReplyDelete
  82. i'm pretty sure their agency doing this to gain popularity, but they're popular because of the weird concept like this. the concept isn't stellar's request though. blame the agency

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yeah they're getting attention, but it's for all the wrong reasons. I doubt this will help them sustain longevity, companies only see temporary attention instead of trying to build a fan base to help them in the long run.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I wish koreans would stop supporting these gimmicks if they hate it so much.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Why isn't their song banned on KBS SBS and MBC their MV I mean plus they would have to change their dance moves for the music shows.

Saying what their parents did and so were a bit harsh since its proper ly their company's fault anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  86. really,,just disband them, this will be lesson to all girlgroup to stop the erotic concept

    ReplyDelete
  87. doesn't give anyone the right to call them sluts. there's a big difference between hating a concept, which everyone does, and calling the artists sexist slurs for it.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Sad but true. Sexy concept like this apply to mostly men instead of girls and when you're not appealed to fangirls, no fandom for you. Sure, instant popularity gained but longevity, no. Since these sexy concept is overdone now, companies should try their hands on capturing wider audience instead. Fangirls love boy groups but they also love girl groups that they can look up to, that they want to be like, the one that inspire them, surely this overly sexy is not the one. Even as a girl, I'm embarrassed watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I'm more concerned over her "eloquence". IF (and that's a big if) they win on a music show, I hope they come prepared. The more I think of their comeback, the more I realize is that you really can't fight this whole "sexy" concept. It works and it stirred up some discussion here. Let's observe for now and point our condescending fingers and forget about this until SNSD and 2NE1 (?) comeback arrives. I'm more eager to see what they do AFTER this promotion. To what "lows" can you go from here.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I never said they should be called 'sluts' for it, you talked about double standards, so I simply wanted to say that for me, it sort of goes both ways. My point is that music should come first and having such overly sexy concepts takes the attention away from it and instead puts it on their awkwardly sexualized dance moves. Everything should come in moderation, even sexy concepts. And going overboard with such sexy concepts can only make your career short lived.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Now at least people have known there is somebody named Gayoung in the group. Who's gonna speak up after this? What a successful media play

    ReplyDelete
  92. agreed, but that's not the point of my comment. if everyone that was criticizing the mv or the girls said it like you, it wouldn't be an issue of sexism but taste. as it is, and just looking at the comments here, it's obvious that it has nothing to do with any kind of genuine concern, whether for the industry or the girls. that's sad.

    ReplyDelete
  93. There needs to be a concept that just parodies this to the extreme where the public will recognize what they're really watching.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Not sure about what exactly would be included in contracts but I know that if an idol were to break said contract there would be consequences (fees, lawsuits etc) & I doubt that a group like Stellar would have the means to pay or go through that. I've been following them since debut, their older concepts were completely different, I think the company saw the success girl groups were getting through sexy concepts & just decided to go all out.

Most of their feedback is negative, but negative attention is more attention than they're ever got, Marionette has charted much much higher than /any/ of their previous releases, and the company has succeeded in getting people talking.

Jeonyuls 18 right now, she would have been around 16~15 at debut, & even younger as a trainee, young girls (& guys) are easily influenced, there's probably a lot that goes on that fans don't even think about, especially in smaller companies.

    ReplyDelete
  95. bad publicity is still publicity... stellar and the company desperate to get attention and they totally attention... and get lots of hate as well..

    ReplyDelete
  96. It is cleary for attention. *sigh*
OT, but NB, can you translate article about BAP #1? I want to see how netizen reacted to this. thank you unnie ! Have a nice day!

    ReplyDelete
  97. the things about contract is,
even within one group, the company (will more than likely) use different contracts with each members,
the content (that's being negotiated in the beginning of the employment) will hold the two parties in a period of time,

and if a (would be) idol know what to look for, he/she can use the contract to protect them, but if not, they will be too dependent on their lawyer to warns them about what's good and what's bad!

    but just think,
a teenager that desperate to be an idol,
parents that have little knowledge about idol's industry and on what will the industry demand from their kids by the time their kids debut, (even 5 years ago, every one can't foresee kpop turning like this),

A LOT of the contract will benefit the company more than idols,

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'd rather have colourful cheerful fun kpop music rather than the sexy one. imagine one day my children ask what did i listened to in my teenage years and i answered kpop. they googled it and find stripping idols.. ughhh...

    ReplyDelete
  99. What if they managed to get fame using this sexy concept ? Maybe right now they are getting all the bad comments, after they promote this song, they will be getting all the attention. Then, they comeback with a good song and dance without a sexy concept. And everyone's attention will also be on them bc they expected stellar to be sexy again. They will be surprised and start to give good comments about how they should have done this from the start. That is, if the company is smart enough to do it right.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I wonder what they would say about BTOB's 19+ MV teaser? Will they accept it or not? If they accept it, it's double standard, can never seem to argue with them.

It's proven many times that sexy concepts will give a group more popularity, that's why most groups do it. I dislike these concepts but I won't judge a group, it's their job and and it's their company who tells them to do it, they need to earn money aswell. I feel sorry for Stellar but there's not much to do, I just wish for them all the best.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I'm surprised she didn't end it with that annoying and overly-cliché.... "Please watch over us well" lol

    ReplyDelete
  102. The sad thing is that the companies are never that smart enough to do it. Pushing their groups far out into sexy phase does gain those groups instant attentions, but it sort of enables them to go back to another concept that is in moderation because at that point sexy is all people except of them. When I look back it, sistar managed pretty well though because somewhere down the line, their company played their cards right, with the right amount of push and pull.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Wow especially vicious these bunch are. Why is everyone assuming the group had control in their concept and how they promote themselves instead of the company? I mean the group might've had some power over it but I feel like it's a given to assume most groups have very little control over things like that... maybe I'm just extra jaded about the industry than I should be lol I feel like they should be hating on the companies before hating on the groups but whatever. Whine all you want in the end it's money that makes the most changes whether we like it or not...

Anyway as for my personal opinion... I'm sorry but what overwhelmingly terrible promotion tactics, clothing, choreography... Yikes. Go with one method being cringeworthy not all of them at once lol The song isn't even terrible either and I'm sure the girls aren't terrible as well but whatever positives there is are way overshadowed by the hot mess that is... everything else. 105. 1. [+1,720, -56] I'm really worried for Korea's idols... the only thing I ask is that they never perform at the finale for the olympics and the Asian games. We must invite only the legends.

most of the korean "legend" acts are boring though -,-
and the next winter olympics are 4 years away.. who knows what acts will be popular then.

  106. Why is Nine Muses's Kyungri's picture used for this article?

    ReplyDelete
  107. I have a feeling they are doing this to grab a chance of landing contracts in Japan. Sad but great marketing

    ReplyDelete
  108. No.
No you shouldn't call them "man"whore or "man"slut.
Because you make it seem as if the words "whore" and "slut" are EXCLUSIVELY meant for women. They aren't.That's extremely sexist in itself and you won't be progressive.
    Try again.
Also, "whore" is a derogatory term for prostitute and the word "slut"is degrading as well. Don't call anyone those, even if they are a night worker.

    ReplyDelete
  109. What is she talking about actually? I can't understand. Should have just stayed quiet.

  110. Yes, Rania are sexy but they look like mature women whereas Stellar look like girls. As a result the way it turns out is a lot different.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hmm, with lyrics like that, they could've paired it up with a Girls Aloud "Sexy No No No"-esque concept.

    ReplyDelete
  112. God still loves you gayoung but he doesn't like what you're doing. Respect yourself. 😉

    ReplyDelete
  113. This reminds me of Gain's ''Truth or Dare'' MV. When she starts crying and the reporter asks her why, she says ''it makes everything forgivable''.
Gayoong gurl, don't play the pity card. You chose to show yourself in the most pornographic way I've seen in KPOP yet so do us the favour and don't act like you regret it.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I hope u get the point of me saying manwhore and manslut. Who doesn't know that slut and whore are derogatory terms, yet they still use them. FFS, I used manwhore and manslut because there aren't any other terms for guys. Gigolo? Bastards? Perverts? Stud? Player?

Let's face it. When it comes to language and culture, women are denegrated for having sex and men are only denegrated for having sex with the wrong woman. They can be applied to men but there's no way to avoid having that denotation come to mind when using them. Women aren't sluts or whores neither are guys. But I commented manwhore/sluts bc there aren't other words to describe. Yet I want to show that some netizens are just that narrow minded too.

  116. everyone is saying because of their contracts and they have no control in their concepts ,but do they just accept it like that ?? Idk I just can't bring myself to feel sorry for them ,I don't want to look down upon them like " oh poor girls they have no choice " they STILL can refuse even if it costs a lot of stuff ,

    ReplyDelete
  117. I liked Rania I think they did it better then Stellar, but that was really the only concept I could think off.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I felt like Ranias concept was a lot more cheap then sexy, but I commend them for doing it a bit better...Stellars was just not what I imagined it would be.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Rania and After School. The only two groups that look effortlessly sexy imo. No matter how much groups like Sistar, Girl's Day etc strip, Rania and AS always remain the sexiest for me. Whatever other groups wear that make them look like 'trash' will work on AS and Rania.

Seeing how this sexy concept is working like miracle atm, I really wish SPICA will never resort to it to get well known.

  120. It's so sad to see this kid becoming like that. She was a very cute and innocent normal high school girl on the days she traveled with '1 Night 2 Days' members on the special trip with viewers 5 years ago. Even some years ago she always said through inteviewer that she'd work hard to become a great person like her ideal type star Lee Seung Gi. But now, WTH with this kid?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Hm... First of all, that message is more towards their fans and not towards you dear shabby knets~

this though :/ I honestly can't imagine their parents being okay with it, especially in a rather conservative country like SK (lbh most korean girls don't even dress so provocatively and it's mostly girl groups that try to push their sexy concept that does all this )

    ReplyDelete
  128. You Shouldn't Do ThatFebruary 13, 2014 at 6:56 AM

I hate that artists take the blame for concepts, costumes and choreography that are forced on them by their management. Did we learn nothing from the Nine Muses documentary? These men and women, particularly nugus, are treated like disposable commodities. After years of training, when you have a shifty contract; what power do these girls have to say no? If we, as I-Fans see that this has crossed a line then they know just how badly it would be received by the Korean netizens. I just wish Netizens would direct their disapproval to the real source of the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  129. It's just a trend. It will come, go, and come back again, just like all trends. It's not a big deal. It's no different to when everybody kept doing disco style songs after Roly Poly.

    ReplyDelete
  130. You Shouldn't Do ThatFebruary 13, 2014 at 7:07 AM

I doubt any artist is lucky enough to have that in their contract. If by chance there were a contract said "you have the right to turn down any concept", it would immediately be followed by "and be replaced. You will pay back the cost of your own training and pay the cost of training your replacement".

Oh on the contrary....I have to disagree. Despite the overtly sexualized MV/point choreography...the girls themselves are quite talented. Most of the group can sing, one of the girls has a really rich, deeper & lovely tone not to mention the rapper is pretty decent too (she mainly sings in these tracks). They shouldn't disband just cause of a salacious concept...

  135. The reason their new song is doing better than their previous songs is because people actually listened to it, why? because they got curious about the mv after the controversy around it. So that's the method most Kpop agencies use lately. Make a shocking Mv (even go too far) so people discuss it, then check the mv to bash it, at the same time listen to the song, like the song, buy the song, and the song gets more successful, at the same time the group's name and the girls' faces get known. This is working so the other agencies will keep on doing it. It only doesn't work if the song really sucks or if the girls aren't pretty, but since the girls look nice and the song is actually good, everyone bash them but in the end their song does better than if they released a simple Mv, got ignored, no one would know their name, no one would know their faces, songs etc. I myself dislike this type of methods and the Mv too (just... :s) but honestly, it works =__=;;; well I find their song good even if I'm not gonna watch that Mv again.

  143. Only if you have your contract reviewed with a lawer cause most people aren't going to go through reading their contracts tbh cause they're probably too excited to just be signed to an agency in the first place. If you get it overlooked with a decent lawyer I'm sure they would point out all the ridiculousness.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Yeah hopefully it'll wear out soon enough. It wouldn't be such a big deal – I like the songs just fine – if it wasn't for companies really pushing the limits in trying to outdo each other.

  151. Because sex sells. The dark concept you have in mind would not give them any attention. Girls Day and AoA had really harsh reactions too when they first came out and look at them now, they're fine

Looking back now you may think "But those teo are not tacky sexy!!!1!"! But I remember clearly how both of them got bashed on nb also. As I was part of the girls day hate bandwagon(I'm still so embarrassed about that lol) and I checked out AoA because ppl here kept going on about how uncomfortable/bad the choreo was lol.

Worst in history, wow lol this is actually getting so much hate.
I don't like the concept but the song itself is really good.
The other songs off their album are pretty good too. They aren't bad singers tbh. The video for Marionette was just total crap lol.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I think the concept is kinda gross too but there's no need for this venom directed at the girls themselves. She's just trying to reassure her fans that she's not upset. It's a nice thing for her to do.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Downvotes come mainly come from ... yes from antis plus neutral readers. For example, some sone says "The Queens of Idols have returned" and other 1776 sones agree. But 556 people disagree. They all can't be haters.

    ReplyDelete

I feel bad for her. She seems to be directing this message to someone close to her but knetizens just have to bash her like this. And I do think these girls are the victims. It's not like they came up with this idea. They did what the company wanted.

What a lie. Maybe nowadays SNSD don't act like they work in clubs. But in the past they used to do such concepts. Compared to them, their labelmates f(x) never ever did such concepts. Not SNSD but f(x) is the real that one girl group who never tried any cheap ass sexy wanna be concepts lol

  180. 1. Why do people always act like these idols are the ones that come up with their own concepts? Most of them do as they are told as per the contract. Otherwise they'd get either kicked out, put on the shelf and not promoted or fined for breaking their contract.

    2. What's up with wanting to disband? Is that always the immediate answer every time someone does something you don't like in a video? If groups disbanded everytime their was something controversial about them or their videos, their would't be many groups promoting....which I'm sure commenters like this want.

    3. The song is actually really good to me. I kinda wish they'd chosen different outfits and avoided scratching their butts in the video, but I guess it did what it was supposed to do which is get attention. Chances are, with just the song alone they would have gotten more attention than they have in the past, however they wouldn't have gotten this level of attention. They've already modified the choreo a little bit. If the company was smart they'd come out with an alternate version video with different outfits and then use those outfits for promotion. That would kill some of the hating and they'd be able to promote without the risk of being banned or shunned.

    ReplyDelete
  181. they are probably going to have some legend singer...I highly doubt it's going to be an idol. Maybe they'll have snippets of kpop, but not for a performance. There are no pop stars that sing in ceremony's- if there are, then they are "legends" and someone who happened to be relevant for a couple years. Out of idols, I only see IU or Davichi. (as of now) but i highly doubt it. I would not be surprised if PSY does perform. you know, since he is a "global star" lol

    ReplyDelete
  182. agreed, she is beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Imo, not really. If they win vs SNSD 'Wow they beat national gg!! daebak 2ne1 really climbing to the top!'.
And if they lose YG can pull this elite shit off and just take them off every show (except Inkigayo ofc lol) and pretend he doesn't care about awards/sales and go on about how quality music is all he cares about.
Then he'll proceed to talk about how busy they are with their tours and schedule another 20 acts in March.

(wow midway this turned into a YG prediction i'm sorry LOL)
