DSP confirms Jiyoung's leave + KARA to remain as three

Article: DSP's official statement "Jiyoung has left the group, KARA will become there members"

Source: Newsen via Nate

1. [+1,322, -51] Whoever thought KARA would fail before T-ara

2. [+954, -33] Do they think acting is really that simple... everyone is going into acting now

3. [+830, -50] Realistically, it's a disbandment. Just the three of them? Not too sure about that...

4. [+47, -35] Aren't the remaining three not on good terms either?

5. [+34, -21] Wonder Girls, KARA... both realistically disbanded.

6. [+26, -15] Think about it... the Hyori senior you girls look up to so much quietly quick acting after getting hate for it. What makes you think you can do any better?

7. [+20, -9] Hope T-ara will disband quickly too

8. [+18, -9] Jiyoung is an idol image through and through. She doesn't have the look for any leading role... just a cute next door girl image. She'll be buried if she debuts as an actress. There are too many other idols vying for that spot.

9. [+17, -2] Can't tell if this is the result of DSP's poor management or the members getting too full of themselves

10. [+16, -5] Can't say this wasn't expected... especially after what happened a few years ago with the split.

im so sad, frist nicole and jiyoung leaving and now an N4 comeback
i want another T-ARA comeback the units are so dumb t-ara isn't that big of a group to be split into units in the first place

  10. er I was confused about the same thing earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  11. well dsp pushes hara as the it girl of the group, that's how terrible their judgement is.

    ReplyDelete
  12. This three member thing won't work out well when only 1/3 of the members is generally well liked among Koreans (from what I've seen).

    ReplyDelete
  13. [+20, -9] Hope T-ara will disband quickly too

Once again T-ara is brought back into a situation which has nothing whatsoever to do about them. I commend you great netizens.
    I feel like everything with KARA happened so quickly...it makes me sad T_T. One scandal can make or break a group it sure is scary...what are they going to do with three members though?... ;u;

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's difficult to imagine how the trios will remain to be KARA. Perhaps they should consider to redebut under a different group name?

    ReplyDelete
  15. nobody would suspect a thing

    ReplyDelete
  16. Rainbow, until they fuck things up for them even more.

    ReplyDelete
  17. DSP should receive the : " best company at destroying most of their top group" award.
I thought they would learn from SS501 mistake but no...they screwed Kara.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is insane. Is DSP posting from the madhouse? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

damn this sucks. kara was the group that brought me into kpop i never would have thought it was going to end like this. DSP is horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  20. KARA have nothing to lose now, if it's me I'll just give 2 spots to the trainee/auditioning new member like how Jiyoung & Hara do.
    Atleast the brand still there.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't think KARA will be the same popular KARA as before with only 3 members:( DSP really is a bad company.

And netizens: T-ara has got nothing to do with this article. Leave them alone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It feels like yesterday I was jamming to Mister and errthang and now...no more KARA. Didn't expect all of this to happen so fast.

    ReplyDelete
  23. DSP loses another one, I really don't know how they'll continue as 3. Im thinking KARA may become inactive and as individuals they'll continue to work in the industry by hosting, cf work, acting etc

Also has anybody checked on KaraLover these days, Im worried about his or her well being right now #pray4karalover

    ReplyDelete
  24. Good luck to DSP. They'll have a hard time regaining back their "image" after this whole ordeal.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wish her the best of luck...she's going to need it. How fluent is she in Japanese? I keep hearing that she's popular there. Anyway i hope people give her space to figure things out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. would be a smart move, Korea has way too many portals like that, they need to team up if they hope to withstand Google

    ReplyDelete
  27. i wondered if dsp wanted those two to leave.... now they left with the most popular members.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The three member unit will never work because Seungyeon and Hara seem to still be really disliked by the general public.
Plus, I don't get how that would work. Gyuri and Seungyeon singing entire songs and Hara, the main dancer (backup vocalist)? I don't think they're talented enough for that unfortunately.

    What a mess..

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know groups splitting for whatever reason is inevitable. However, it still kinda hits me hard to realize that the end of an era has finally arrived really. Such good times they were.

I wish all parties luck on their respective paths though

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just watch the hate pour in in every single DSP or KARA article.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's weird I didn't see this user on Kara related article, I'm also worried >.<

    ReplyDelete
  35. somehow.... after all this what happend... the only member I feel bad for is Gyuri.... (and also poor Nicole.. hope she will do well in America...)
isn't Gyuri the one who gave them the name "KARA"?.. she is also the leader.... she is the one (next to Nicole) who didn't got hate because of that show and other things.... rather Knetizens praised her in her solo activities... and then this happens....
she has to watch how the group which carries the name which she came up with shatters in pieces....

    ReplyDelete
  36. seems like they are still in the first generation idol mindset where a group could only last 5 years..

    ReplyDelete
  37. 3 members? LOL what will Hara do?

    ReplyDelete
  38. not to mention they took rainbow away to japan when they started to get really popular

    ReplyDelete
  39. I honestly hope that there will be no more rapping in future KARA songs. ESPECIALLY from Ha Ra.

    ReplyDelete
  40. My Kamilia heart hurts
I just hope the two members that go solo achieve success in whatever they do and the 3 that remain too
I don't know whats left though, all I can do is try and think positive
I have so much hate for DSP

    ReplyDelete
  41. what a load of shit.
i am so done with this poor managment bullcrap. get your shit done

But one can think that there must've been other factors that lead to this. It seems as though there was a barrier between the Kara members. Like, they always fail to reach a mutual agreement with each other. Seems like they hardly even communicated with each other after 8 years...If they did, they would've left as a group, etc. Looking from whats been happening, it's like DSP doesn't care about Kara anymore, at least not as a group. I also don't like how the parents were involved in the previous lawsuit... they're mature adults and can stand up and make decisions for themselves. Jeesus it was like 2 vs 2 and Gyuri was MIA half the time. Them, having their noses in the situations is what partially caused this breakup to happen.

it's unfortunate that this is happening to a very loved girl group.

  42. Karalove seems to be trying to stay positive

  43. Is not the CEO of DSP in coma so his wife is in charge ?

  46. Gyuri, leave!!! run for your life!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. They really are like cockroaches, they survive everything.

    ReplyDelete
  48. They weren't always terrible. They used to be one of the best companies around with Fin.K.L and Sechs Skies... and the early days of SS501. The CEO's wife is fucking everything up. She's the reason why the contract issue came up a couple years ago; because she thought she could just do whatever she wanted with Kara and they'd have to accept it just 'cause she was in charge. Effing bullshit, really.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Why should they? They didn't leave the group. Besides, it's not like Nicole and Jiyoung's absence makes any musical impact anyway. Gyuri and Seungyeon sing majority of the songs anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm giving them a year before they're officially over. Two, at most.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Gyuri needs to go solo and save herself. Also, wow, the wikipedia page has already been updated. That was fast and cold.

    ReplyDelete
  52. In all honesty though, one can probably imagine KKS is having a huge laugh about this mess. The guy has had a huge grudge against KARA ever since that lawsuit in 2010 and even publicly called for certain members to be blacklisted from the showbiz.

    ReplyDelete
  53. i hope Jiyoung moves to Japan to become a model/variety show host. That's he best best if she wants to stay in the entertainment industry

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1. [+1,322, -51] Whoever thought KARA would fail before T-ara

Whoever thought there would be a worse CEO than KKS

    ReplyDelete
  55. He checked in the day before yesterday on the nicole article and said he was okay, and made his stance that he will stay a fan and spend his life collecting their things just as he did before, however, after last night's jiyoung article we were looking for him but i dont think he showed up (not while i was on anyway..) He's trying to stay positive and his unwavering love is admirable ;~; hope this doesnt break down the positivity he has left :<

    ReplyDelete
  56. DSP is left with Rainbow, who can't even go head to head with Girl's Day and doesn't generate much income.

A-Jax, which they poured a lot money into their debut with their limited resources with double title track and MV but they pretty much failed they made Japanese versions of title tracks which didn't generate any interest and their last comeback sold less than 1.500 copies and their song peaked at 172..

Puretty which they named DSP girls, sister group to KARA and Rainbow whom have yet to debut in Korea and only released 2 singles in Japan since June 2012, this was the sum of their promotions since.

I guess they do have some resources since they are supposed to produce Dramas and TV shows but if they haven't got anything left up their sleeves, honestly they are fucked.

    ReplyDelete
  57. No, KKS is still the worst CEO out there. :(

    ReplyDelete
  58. nope, they were always terrible. You might want to read up on the shit that went behind close doors as DSP tried to sabotage Sechskies Daesang win in favor of Finkl.

DSP is a terrible company. They always were.

    ReplyDelete
  59. T-ara still has a long time before they disband. Feb. Japanese comeback, Chinese activities, etc. Did you guys here, T-ara N4 is going to release an album called, "Miss Understood" and going to have a US Tour. : )

kinda got to agree.. i think jiyoung has a better chance of acting as an idol first.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I hope that at least Nicole will take this opportunity to take some time away from the entertainment industry and go to an American university. She's still only 22, after all. :)

  68. DSP gonna flop hard. I am sorry for Rainbow and Ajax and Purrety.

    ReplyDelete
  69. RIP "The Best Fucking Five."

    ReplyDelete
  70. KKS is not the CEO of Core Contents Media anymore, it is Mr. Byun. KKS has been promoted to executive of CJ E & M Live.

    ReplyDelete
  71. KKS isn't the CEO anymore it is Byun Dongjin.

    ReplyDelete
  72. so now they are going to delete jiyounh's picture too ? seriously a kid would manage better.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oh damn I feel sad now T.T

    ReplyDelete
  74. Do you have a source? Nothing comes up on google.

    ReplyDelete
  75. CCM is worse than DSP

    ReplyDelete
  76. My idea of "terrible" is obviously not the same as yours. KKS set the bar for shitty CEOs with the whole Nam Gyuri-SeeYa fiasco. The way that was "handled" was worse than what happened with T-ara. It was almost as if the "statements" the company made were vague on purpose because CCM is under the very wrong impression that all press is good press.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wow, I think this is the first time in any of the DSP articles that anyone has mentioned Purrety. >_>

    ReplyDelete
  78. so now they are going to delete jiyounh's picture too ? seriously who would'nt manage better?

    ReplyDelete
  79. IIRC, it had something to do with bad management and pay. CEO's wife took up reins at some point in 2010 after he was put in hospital (and we all know how well she's been running things so far).

    ReplyDelete
  80. What has he done worthy of being promoted? ಠ_ಠ

    ReplyDelete
  81. yeah they were my first too.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I pity CCM idol too, their CEO is like their own hater. He can't handle controversy and mistreat their artist.
Anyway, both company are bad. Imo they're just good at releasing some catchy and good songs.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think they will, Kara will now promote as three.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ah ok, good to know he's trying to be positive. Hope he posts soon to let us know he's doing alright

    ReplyDelete
  85. The very thought of him being promoted to the position of a major subsidiary of a chaebol is quite disturbing.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I am clueless, he should be fired.

    ReplyDelete
  87. see that's just what ticks me off why send them away when they're getting so popular, it was like they were on steroids ready to ship off the next big thing when they were just beginning to get big in korea. (flips off DSP through the computer screen.)

    ReplyDelete
  88. I agree, but Mr. Byun has been the CEO since March or May of 2012. So, obliviously KKS still holds a lot of power in CCM.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Doesn't erase that he's still got a shitload of clout over CCM, similar to how Lee Soo Man with SM.

For all we know, BDJ could be the case of 'Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss'.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Rumour has it that you get some pretty nifty deals when you sell your soul to Satan. Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
  91. Don't you mean 2013? Last I checked, KKS was still the CEO in 2012.

IMO, he probably has that mentality of 'They're all still mine' in regards to his idol groups in CCM. T-ara's workload hasn't really seen any significant decrease in 2013, that's for sure - and he likely wouldn't want any of them to think about getting 'loose' simply because BDJ is now the new fella in town.

    ReplyDelete
  92. whaaat?
She's one of the prettiest idols, a great vocalist, a good dancer, rapper, she has a great body and she's way better than boring It Girls (Suzy, Yoona, Sohee)

    ReplyDelete
  93. ah the poor guy, seeing his beloved group break up right before his very eyes

    ReplyDelete
  94. It is unfortunate what happened. Maybe they did communicate but just didn't agree on things? If one person thinks they are getting treated fairly and another person doesn't, then of course they won't see eye to eye about staying or leaving. I hope they're all on good terms and reunite someday. Also Gyuri will probably not be leaving anytime soon because I think her family is close to the higher ups at DSP so don't get your hopes up about her being free of them.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Maybe instead of thinking of it that way, she'll be proud of how well she lead the group and how far they've come and how successful they were. Idol life isn't meant to last forever and there was bound to come a time where things had to end. Maybe she's happy that the maknaes she watched grow up are brave enough to leave if they're unhappy and pursue other things. Idk I'm just trying to be a positive I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  96. But don't Seungyeon and Gyuri have the best voices in KARA? I mean musically they could definitely continue. It's not as bad as if (hypothetically) Hyorin left Sistar or Eunji left APink.

    ReplyDelete
  97. 1. [+1,322, -51] Whoever thought KARA would fail before T-ara

    ReplyDelete
  98. Her contract doesn't expire until April, so I don't think they'll promote as three until after she's gone.

    ReplyDelete
  99. My poor kamilia heart can't take this. I'll still support them especially Goddess Gyuri.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Bah , i just read about nicole article...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Such an awkward combination.

    ReplyDelete
  102. "1. [+1,322, -51] Whoever thought KARA would fail before T-ara"
no kidding. after the whole hwayoung thing the whole group was treated like pariahs and taboo but they somehow managed to pull through.

    DSP fucked up.

    ReplyDelete
  103. 1. [+1,322, -51] Whoever thought KARA would fail before T-ara

I would be waiting to see the end of that so called T-rash

    ReplyDelete
  104. I honestly cannot see the rest of Kara do well. They were really popular in Japan but it seems like the Korean fan base do not like them as much... It such a shame, Kara was a huge girl group. Guess you can't fake talent.

    ReplyDelete
  105. right. even dsp doesn't mention puretty.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I can not forgive them for SS501. They disbanded them at their height. What kind of idiot does that? If they had stayed together they would have been legends alongside TVXQ. But now we see their lackluster solo sales and it just breaks my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Still can't forgive them for effing up SS501...
